A native of Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, Ms. Vega will share authentic Puerto
Rican soul food. El Pilón’s specialty is mofongo, made from mashed
plantains served in a hand-made wooden pilón stuffed with your choice
of seasoned shrimp, fish, chicken, or pork. The matriarch of a large
extended family of blood relatives and adopted ones, Abuela Marta has
cooked for family and community events for the past 28 years in the
Seattle area. All are invited to join the fun.
